Sunday July 6 - Corner Brook, Newfoundland

No excursion today. Weather started out iffy, but by noon it cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful, sunny afternoon, albeit a bit warm! After breakfast in the MDR we didn't actually get off the ship until about 10:30.

The major employer the is the Corner Brook Mill and Paper Co. Another thing we didn't know: Newfoundland and Labrador are one Province. Labrador is "the mainland" connected to Quebec.

And this is odd -- overnight we had to change our clocks ahead by a HALF HOUR!

We walked around the town a bit and were directed to the Corner Brook Trail, leading to the Glynmill Inn Trail and Margaret Bowater Park. Nice trail through the woods and ponds. Stop at the Glymill Inn for coffee. Great old hotel originally built for execs from the Paper Mill.

Upon return to town, we had coffee and a snack at this cute little coffee shop. We needed it - that was a long, hot hike! (We never did have actual lunch!)

Our after dinner entertainment was the magician/comedian we had seen earlier in the cruise. He was great! Lots of incomprehensible illusions.
